Microsoft

The Microsoft building is the flagship headquarters for the country's hi tech industry. As the first building in Herzliya's new development of its business district, it aggregates all of Microsoft's local divisions into one building. The project balances the requirement of providing a large enough space for a daily influx of 2,800 employees in addition to visitors and clients while still giving a sense of shared mission and community in the company.

In accordance with the company's needs, the program has been distributed horizontally over 5,000 sm levels, which are connected spatially and visually to levels above and below though internal sunlit atriums. These areas become places for interaction between people who may be working in different areas of the complex.

In response to the local climate and its location, the building provides large sea facing balconies at every level that cascade down the elevation. In addition, its double curtain wall shields the interior offices and work spaces from direct sunlight to provide a comfortable and productive work environment inside.
