Bay 51

A joint project with Ron Arad Architects, London, this unique residential building of 42 apartments is located just a few meters from the Haifa coast, directly accessible to the Bat Galim Boardwalk.  Located on a 1,700 sm site, the building wraps itself around the historical house of Dr. Victor Cohen, an eclectic style house built in 1925, preserving and honoring the original structure while also creating a dynamic new one.  At ground level, the building's minimal footprint is separated into two separate volumes with a path cutting between them, while below ground one level of parking serves the tenants.  Above, the floor plan expands and changes gradually with each level, articulated by the curvilinear floor plate that extends out to provide sea facing balconies.  With the dynamic but subtle changes in geometry, each level provides unique apartments enclosed with continuous floor to ceiling glass to reveal uninterrupted panoramic views towards the coast and the sea.
